My Pai Top 5: My favourite things to do in Pai, Thailand…

When imagining Thailand – blissful beaches, raving full-moon parties and crazy cities would be at the forefront of my mind, however that was before I’d visited Pai. Yes, you can guarantee that Thailand offers the aforementioned, but Pai and it’s surrounding area yields a completely different atmosphere altogether; as a town up in the mountains of Northern Thailand, it’s peaceful, luscious and bursting with unspoiled, idyllic, natural scenery.  Originally, whilst planning the Northern Thailand leg of our trip, we were in two minds as to whether we’d bother with Pai and just stay in Chiang Mai for longer (this was due to some reviews I’d read online about the road from…

Elegance in the Emirates: What not to miss when in Dubai…

Dubai is a glamorous city in the United Arab Emirates with impressive architecture and a climate you can guarantee warmth any time of the year.  So it’s not surprising more and more of us head there in search of some winter sun, but it’s not just all-inclusive hotels and beach days. I’ve collected together all my favourite things to do whilst in Dubai below…  1. Yellow Boat Ride For Valentine’s Day, I was bought a voucher for a Yellow Boat ride around Dubai from Viator.com and I have to say, I don’t think it would have been something that I would have chosen to do, but it was hands down the…

5 Must Do’s In Krabi, Thailand

Krabi is located on the west coast of Southern Thailand, with over 100 islands in Krabi Province, it’s full of gorgeous beaches, beautiful scenery and fabulous night life.       My pre-visit research mainly consisted of deciding whether to stay in Ao Nang (mainland Krabi) or on Railay, which is a peninsular only accessible by boat (about 15 minute boat ride away). I finally decided that even though Railay looked more picturesque, it would be better to stay in Krabi as all the amenities were there and then we could just hop on a boat to Railay as and when we wanted to for the day. Rather…

    8 great must-do’s when in Hoi An…

Hoi An was a place highly recommend by various different friends who had previously visited Vietnam. It wasn’t on our original route around Asia but after the third friend suggested it…. we couldn’t just ignore their advice! And boy, I’m glad we listened! This is Vietnam at it’s most charming. Arriving from Hanoi (take a look at my blog post here on the top 10 things to do and see in Hanoi), we had left the crazy scooters and diverse city behind and were welcomed to a more relaxed and most pretty town I was yet to experience in Asia. Firstly – it would be silly not to mention the lanterns – as…

Top 10 things to do and see in Hanoi, Vietnam…

The capital city of Vietnam – Hanoi, is much more than what first meets the eye. On first impressions, Hanoi in three words; scooters, crazy, scooters. From the moment that we got into the taxi from the airport, we realised that motorway lanes do not exist in Hanoi, traffic right of way doesn’t exist… (or at least they have their own system that only the locals are privy to) and everyone owns a scooter.  Surely these situations are a nightmare waiting to happen?  However, I couldn’t help but notice that I didn’t witness any road accidents whatsoever throughout my whole stay in Hanoi, which is crazy considering at one point, about 25 scooters were charging towards the…

Why I’m in love with Singapore!

It’s the second time I’ve now visited Singapore both this year and in my life and I honestly can’t get enough of it! City’s aren’t generally my favourite place to travel to (although I’m definitely warming to them), as I’ve always been more of a beach and countryside-kinda-gal, but Singapore I can absolutely swap for the sand. One of the most important factors of enjoyment for me (as I am a bit of a chicken) is feeling safe, and in Singapore I really feel at ease walking around alone.  Singapore has the glamorous sky scrapers, the beautiful marina river and the extravagant restaurants and hotels but the super refreshing thing about this city…
