Elegance in the Emirates: What not to miss when in Dubai…

Dubai is a glamorous city in the United Arab Emirates with impressive architecture and a climate you can guarantee warmth any time of the year.  So it’s not surprising more and more of us head there in search of some winter sun, but it’s not just all-inclusive hotels and beach days. I’ve collected together all my favourite things to do whilst in Dubai below…

1. Yellow Boat Ride

For Valentine’s Day, I was bought a voucher for a Yellow Boat ride around Dubai from Viator.com and I have to say, I don’t think it would have been something that I would have chosen to do, but it was hands down the highlight of my time in Dubai! It’s not only great because you get to see all of the top sights of Dubai including the Burj Al Arab and the Palm Jumeirah, but the actual 90 minute ride was SO. MUCH. FUN! The boat went so fast, flying over the waves, it was so exhilarating and the tour guide was brilliant too! I’d highly recommend this to everyone visiting Dubai.

2. Lunch by the Marina

Dubai Marina has a luxurious ambiance being surrounded by glamorous architecture and super-yachts. There are lots of restaurants to choose from along the Marina so it’s a great opportunity to grab a delicious lunch and soak up the stunning views surrounding you.

3. Visit the Malls

What not to miss when in Dubai...

The two main malls are Dubai Mall and the Mall of the Emirates, they are both pretty impressive and can keep you busy for a whole day as there’s that much to see and do in both. Not only can you get your luxury fashion shopping ticked off, you can also visit Dubai Aquarium in the Dubai Mall and Ski Dubai, a huge indoor snow park in the Mall of the Emirates. The Malls are pretty impressive and a nice escape from the heat if needed.

4. Beach club it

Okay, so the main reason why you’ve probably decided to visit Dubai is the beautiful all year round climate that you can expect there. There are so many fabulous beach clubs in Dubai so here are a few to choose from – Blue MarlinZero Gravity and Nasimi Beach Club.

5. Watch the fountain show from a boat

The fountain night show in Dubai is a must see, from the base of the Burj Khalifa (it’s the tallest building in the world – so you can’t miss it), it’s like watching a spectacular firework show to music, apart from it’s water instead. We got a boat over the water whilst the show was going on and it was absolutely amazing! Such a beautiful moment to experience.

6. Wander around the Dubai Miracle Garden

I didn’t get round to do this one, but it gives me an excuse to re-visit Dubai as I love it there! The Dubai Miracle Garden looks stunning and so colourful, almost dream like.  A fabulous photo opportunity.

7. Enjoy a drink at Palace Downtown Hotel

In Dubai, the hotels are the only place that drinking alcohol is permitted, so we had a stroll and came upon this beautiful hotel. We went through to the bar and could see the fountain show with the Burj Khalifa lighting up in the background whilst sipping on a cocktail. The hotel is so elegant and luxurious and offers fabulous views so a drink here is a great way to toast a fabulous holiday in Dubai.

There are so many things to do in Dubai so these are just a few that I enjoyed whilst I was there, but you can also experience a desert safari, a Friday Champagne brunch, a day out at the waterpark and a ride up to the top of the Burj Khalifa. If you’ve been to Dubai, please let me know in the comments below what your favourite thing about this city was and if you’re planning a visit – I hope this blog post was helpful and have the best time in Dubai!

Love
