Describe your perfect summer holiday…. does it involve beach, gorgeous views, great food, beautiful culture and an exciting nightlife? Well, you’re in luck; Hotel Torre Del Mar in Ibiza offers all of these things! Hotel Torre Del Mar (TDM) is set in the perfect location; right on the coast of Playa d’en Bossa with crystal clear sea views from the balcony as well as the pretty distant lights of Ushuaia. It’s also set far enough back from the town to ensure a peaceful stay.
At just a 10 minute drive away from the airport, you couldn’t seek more convenience if you tried – due to it’s close proximity to the airport, it meant that we could enjoy our holiday for longer! Aside from it’s beach adjacency and closeness to Ushuaia, TDM is also just a 7 minute taxi ride to Ibiza Old Town which is a gorgeous town bursting with culture, yachts and delightful restaurants. If Fomentera is on your bucket list, (which, by the way – if it isn’t, it definitely should be) the ferry stop is 2 minutes walk from the hotel, which is another fabulous perk of it’s location.
Fomentera is a really special island just off Ibiza, with turquoise waters, golden sand and awesome beach clubs. We rented a bike each for €10 for the day, it was so worth it because the bike ride to the beach offered stunning views and it gave a different dimension on seeing this pretty island.
The design of Hotel Torre Del Mar is modern, chic and stylish. Due to the large size of the hotel, it could have been quite a challenge to furnish with individual and special pieces but they’ve achieved it beautifully! With a fresh, sparkly clean aesthetic combined with some distinct cool and quirky pieces, it really hits the current fashion of interior design.
There’s a lot of glass within the design, allowing for the outside views to spill in to the interior – from the reception areas, restaurants as well as the balcony in the rooms. Our bedroom offered more than ample space, a walk in wardrobe, a stunning large bed, beautiful views overlooking the sea from the large balcony and a plush bathroom with a delightfully hot power shower.
Food and Drink
The buffet breakfasts at Hotel TDM were delightfully delicious! On offer was a plethora of options, from pancakes to omelettes, cakes to bread – there was something for everyone to enjoy. We took sheer delight in enjoying our breakfast out on the terrace which offered the most perfect views over the sea – this was one of our morning highlights! There are’t too many tables outside so I highly recommend arriving at breakfast early before all of the tables are snapped up, especially in high season.
Whilst we were staying at Hotel TDM, we enjoyed an absolutely delightful dinner in the buffet restaurant, with panoramic sea views, excellent service, delicious rosé and such tasty food!
The pool area is so beautifully presented, with a great pool bar for cocktails (which by the way were delicious!), the area is kept very clean and adopts some sleek pool furniture. The pool is extremely large, with more than enough swimming space for everyone, but there isn’t quite so much space around the pool for sunbathing. So in high season, aim to get to the pool early. Alternatively, there are some sun beds in the pool! There’s also another deck to enjoy the sunshine from above the pool, as well as a seating area on the grass. If these options are not available, you’ve come to Ibiza – so go to the beach and get in that Mediterranean sea!
With a beautiful, modern design, friendly service, delicious food and incredible views, Hotel Torre Del Mar is the perfect place to enjoy the paradise of Playa d’en Bossa and Ibiza!
