Queue… The Morzgerhof! This charming old house was built in 1405 but don’t let this vintage date deceive you. Whilst you try to uncover the history of the house (brave the beautiful wine cellar if you are not too chicken to go down there alone like us), you can set the scene with the mood lighting, warm up the hot tubs (yes, this is not a typo…PLURAL hot tubs!) and jump in the lift which runs through the house to get you and the girls from the spa to the kitchen to grab another bottle of Prosecco in seconds!
What else could you need for your friends? Did I mention the massage chairs (they literally feel like you’re getting massaged by a person!)? The sauna? The TV above the larger hot tub – which is big enough for your whole squad and boasts changing light colours, jets and even a waterfall?!
And if you want to jump around singing your heart out to the best of the 90s… “No worries” says the owner, Chris. The neighbours won’t hear a thing so you can play the music and give Mariah Carey your best shot. Admittedly, we did hit the volume button and have a few dancing sessions, Prosecco in hand!
There is a problem with the bedrooms…there are so many that you will have to run around the house trying to bagsy the best one as you also try to take in the sheer size of the Morzgerhof. A 5 bedroomed, 3 bathroomed chalet-style house, oozing style and elegance. We were lucky enough to have only two of us and so we both wanted to reside in the master bedroom. It has an ensuite with a beautiful stand alone bath, a separate toilet, a walk in wardrobe x 2 (this house comes in plurals) plus a Smart TV with the ability to watch Netflix… so could you really blame us for skipping a day in Salzburg (read on)!? I mean this house was MADE for a chilled out getaway with friends.
Whilst we were staying at the Morzgerhof, we planned to have another day out in Salzburg exploring all the culture it has to offer. However… we loved the house so much that we actually didn’t leave it!! So instead, we walked to a nearby supermarket through a snowy park and picked up enough food and drink to see us through for the remainder of our trip. The Morzgerhof is, of course, in a perfect location to enable you to visit Salzburg being only a 10 minute taxi drive away from town and with ample car parking space if you’ve driven.
Of course, a girly holiday wouldn’t be so without a bit of drama. When our taxi didn’t turn up an hour before our flight was due to leave, we hit the panic button. AKA we messaged the owner Chris and a taxi turned up in a matter of minutes. Thank you, Chris!
